Updated Style for the Custom Low Profile Shower Bases

Onyx Low Profile Custom Shower Bases now have an updated style. We replaced the bevel on the curb and flanges with a radius, making the low profile look similar to the Mid Height style.

All Custom Low Profile Shower Bases have this new style starting this week. Standard Low Profile Shower Bases will receive a similar update next month. Here are a few details about this new style:

  • The bevel on the curb and flange is replaced with a simple radius.
  • The curb has a 3" width to better accommodate shower doors.
  • The new style adds a more simple and clean modern look to our Low Profile shower bases.

    Changes for Integral Ramps and Add-on Ramps

    Changes for 2022
    New - Textured Ramps

    All integral ramps for custom bases and all add-on ramps will now have a textured surface.
    The texture is identical to the texture on our custom pans.

    Also, we removed the small "flat" section at the top of the ramp.
    This change reduces the slope of the ramp.

    Ramp sizes remain the same: 4 1/2" and 6" standard widths, and custom widths up to 20".

    Raised Edge Option for Lavatories - Changes in June 2022

    The Raised Edge option for lavatories will no longer be available to order beginning June 1st, 2022. We will fulfill all current jobs and any jobs you are in the process of designing and selling.

    Trends show a steady increase in 1" thick Flat Edge Lavatory sales and also a decline in the Raised Edge lavatory sales. Eliminating the raised edge will allow for more 1" thick lavatory molds in production to better serve these trends.

    Matte Finish Option - Changes for 2022

    Dear Onyx Dealers,

    The Matte Finish Option will no longer be available to order online in 2022. We will fulfill all current jobs and any jobs you are in the process of designing and selling. Please let us know if you have any questions about this change.

    We plan on updating and adding several new products in 2022. As these changes happen, we will send out Onyx News emails.

    Here are a few to look forward to throughout 2022:

    - The Low Profile Shower Base option will get an updated style (it will look more like the Mid Height Style)

    - A new Shiplap shower wall panel option will be ready soon

    - New shower caddies, seats, bowl styles, and colors

    - An updated website

    - And hopefully shorter lead times!

    Thanks for a great 2021. We appreciate your patience and understanding with the longer lead times. We will continue to make improvements that add capacity, allowing the lead times to continue to come down.
